Door knocker with backplate
Central Europe, 17th century
Malleable iron round bar with bending, welded terminals, a centre ring knob, and forged ribboning. Wild men’s heads on the ring mount and the centre knob. Circular backplate wrought into leaf openwork and encircled by a wire flange. Decorated with grooving.
